The Experience

The foundation for this church was built nearly 2000 years ago! It has gone through a lot of changes and now stands in partial ruins, yet the bell tower is open and has a great view. Why You’ll Love It

Easy hike or bike from Tiny Escape with minimal elevation.
Right on the Ecopista (nature trail) with an interesting train tunnel that you to pass through.
Sweeping views of natural hills, valleys and forests.
Passes through parts of several tiny villages.
Brings you face-to-face with delightful villagers.

Helpful Hints

It’s a beautiful hike but you can also rent one of our E-bikes.
There is a walking trail that goes all the way around the church ruins.
Many of the ruins are accessible, just be careful.
In the late summer, feel free to snack on the figs. There is a giant tree on the backside of the ruins.
If you bike, please be mindful of two things. First, the entry points have bars that block motorized vehicles and there are a lot of them. Be careful, especially at night when biking. Second, there are delicate and innocent looking vines that often hang down along the trail. Avoid them, they are micro-thorns.
