The tiny homes are each named and decorated after different places the owners have visited around the world, which makes the whole experience feel so unique. We stayed in one of their brand-new homes, “The Greece Home,” and even with the rainy weather, it was such a memorable stay. The hospitality really stood out. The owners welcomed me personally and made me feel at home right away. You can feel how much love and passion they’ve put into this place. They shared their exciting plans for what’s coming next — including more themed homes, a biopool, and additional secluded spots to relax — and it just made the stay feel even more special. The location is perfect, close to both the Douro and Dão wine regions, which made it an ideal base for exploring wineries, great restaurants, and nearby hiking trails. They also shared some great local tips, including unique mushroom foraging routes. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful and secluded — it already feels like a true escape into nature. Even though the resort isn’t fully finished yet, it didn’t take away from the experience at all. If anything, it made me even more excited to come back and see how it all turns out.

We stayed at Tiny Escape before they were fully complete with the construction and already it’s a great spot. It was really fun to experience the center of Portugal as we had only ever been to the coast. There is so much to do, especially the Douro and Dão wine countries and tours. We did Quinta do Vallado and the virtual reality tour they have is really great since we missed the real harvest. Although it was rainy, the hiking was great inside the property but also the PR trails connected immediately outside the property as well as the ecopista which will take you to Viseu or Vouzela and the spas in Sao Pedro do Sul. Their pool wasn’t finished but I can see how nice it will be this summer and it’s huge. Nice that it won’t use chlorine or chemicals. I loved the accomodation and once the landscape and pool are finished it will be much better. a nice breakfast basket of local cheese, bread and other key items as well were delivered each day. Glad they invited us to give feedback for future guests
As an early guest, I had a personal window into the vision and passion that the owners have for Tiny Escape. They are crafting a beautiful retreat in the heart of a historic vineyard with beautiful views of the neighboring town and hill country, a diverse amount of harvesting trees and plants, and a cascading hillside for the cabins to each maintain unobstructed views to nature. The land itself is already rich in character and relaxation, but the bio-pool they are adding will be a highlight to cherish in the near future! The bio-pool also speaks to their commitment to a sustainability driven experience with the land. A highlight for me was picking fresh oranges off of a tree and using a personal juicer to make orange juice. The knowledge the owners have of the surrounding area was also a highlight and gave me plenty of fun excursions to explore at my leisure aside from relaxing at Tiny Escape (also ask them about some of the hidden discoveries at the retreat too!). I explored nearby hike and bike trails, recommended restaurants and wineries nearby, a natural springs spa, and plenty more.
